Sure, it may not be easy to find on the map, but you’ll have a hard time finding a place so small offering so much. We provide you with the glimpse into why it should get high on a bucket-list as your next fly-fishing destination.

This year we have seen unbelievable amount of rain filling the Slovenian Alps rivers in May, which translated into most of them running normal even through the hottest days of August. Nothing to complain - as in recent decades we are seeing the trend of green winters coming and going - healthy water levels in summer brings joy to us.
June to October we were regularly bringing clients to these sacred waters. From the newcomers to the sport, to the proficient fly fisherman, we enjoyed a perfect dry fly and nymph sport. At the peak of the guiding season, had to test the fish activity zones at Slovenian Jurassic Lake before hitting it with the client the day after. A plan was formed as soon as the client expressed his will to try the wild fish lake – calling a friend and we were already eager to get into the next adventure the day after. Behind the fly tying bench to the midnight and then sleeping it over to be ready for a new big day.
By the end of October, the fishing season in Slovenia is slowly unwinding, mother nature puts the autumn clothes - in specter of vivid brownish to red brownish colors - on. Here an then we get a spell of splendid weather, where sun baths in the crystal-clear waters and fish go into feeding frenzy – classic case of Indian Summer, at least in my books. The fishing gets as good as it goes, but for guys and gals out there, please respect the brown trout, as they are preparing for the spawning season. There is great sport to be had with the dry fly on graylings and some nymphing on rainbows.
This year we have seen a solid trend of ladies and younger gal's willing to explore, what's the fuss with this thing called Fly fishing. Even though die-hard fly-fishing aficionados sometimes approach fishing ladies with a notion, what have they lost at the stream, most of us are pretty stoked with this trend. Coming from the guiding background, there are few distinctive advantages provided with most female fly-anglers - guests.
